Fighting corruption in Afghanistan is a difficult and complex task

Qaiss Bawari is the Deputy Attorney General of Afghanistan for Anti-Corruption Affairs. He has previously worked in the human rights department in the southern provinces of Afghanistan. Mr. Bawari is working hard to resist decisively against corruption. Corruption has been an obstacle to transparent governance for many years.

This week, Mr. Rasooli, head of the Belgian Independent Human Rights Organization, visited Qaiss Bawari and encouraged him to fight seriously against corruption by awarding him the Medal of Human Rights Defender.

The fight against corruption is a great demand of the international community to the leaders of Afghanistan, Mr. Bawari has promised to fight seriously against corruption and injustice in Afghanistan.
